The Squid Story

I started out thinking I’d named my store after a squid.

Turns out… it was a jellyfish all along. Whoops.

But that happy accident kind of fits perfectly, chilled, a little quirky, and honest from the get-go. Just like I’m happy to admit the logo mix-up, I’m also upfront about every product I sell. I’m not here to hide behind stock photos or vague descriptions, I want you to know exactly what you’re getting, every time.

My love for gaming started when I was quite young and was gifted a second-hand Nintendo 64 console with Diddy Kong Racing and Banjo-Kazooie. That moment has always stuck with me, not just because of the games, but because of the joy and possibility it opened up. Gaming has been a part of my life ever since, it’s brought me lifelong friends, memories, and now, the chance to run my own little store.

That’s why delivering quality and satisfaction matters so much to me. I know what it’s like to unwrap a pre-owned game and console and feel like it’s brand new. That’s the feeling I want to pass on every time.

At Squid Gaming, everything’s preowned, but properly looked after. Every controller, game and console is fully tested, cleaned, and working as it should.

I photograph and label every item by condition: Acceptable, Good, or Very Good. If there’s anything worth noting (like a scratch on a screen, marks on a dock or wear on a case, for example), I’ll always mention it. I dispatch every working day, package with care, offer free tracked shipping, and include free returns, because second-hand should still feel first class.

I’m not here to be the biggest store, I just want to be your favourite. As a gamer myself, I’ve built the kind of shop I’d want to buy from — reliable, honest, and full of good vibes.
